Blue Grass at Park Theater in Holland MI

This was an experiment and we did not know what to expect. We knew the Park Theater did exist in Holland Michigan, but we had never been there. When we arrived it was kind spooky, just a few people in line and at the call window was very old fashion. Entering the building it looked like it was too old to handle Theater. I have seen better bars in most of the houses that have on. The interior looked like a building that had been empty for a decade or two and should be condemned :-). We learned that there is a special group working on renovating the Theater and they want to make it nice and shiny again.

To let you know up front. It has a great atmosphere and we have been there a few more times. It is a place with character, good performances, great visiting artists and you can feel the passion that the people possess that run the place. Go and look for yourself.

The performance of Michael Cleveland and the Flamekeeper is just exceptional. I never cared for Bluegrass music too much, but Michael is the master or the trade and makes his fidel talk, sing and connect to you. I have never heard anybody playing a Fidel like this. His group is very special too with great Characters in it. Go and listen to them yourself. You would be very lucky if you can do this at the Park Theater the way we did it. This is a great place fo a group and performance like this. Don't take our word for it - try it.
